My artistic odyssey as a painter began with the desire to be immersed in nature, and to find a visual language which would transcend words. I have sought to capture the hidden, intangible aspect of the world around me, and to convey the profound mystery that it holds for me in my art.

The nearness and presence of the river serves as a catalyst for contemplation and experimentation in my work. To me, the river is the embodiment and physical manifestation of time itself. The act of painting is also about time, and the artist’s attempt to capture and suspend it, if only for a short while.

Each mark one makes with the hand, each layer of paint, can illuminate the present moment and the past, forging them into a work that then has its own life in time. It is my hope that my art serves as a place for reflection, a space for the observer to connect with the tangible.
